Types, functions and requirements of automobile lamps and lanterns

With the development of science and technology and economy at any time, cars have become an indispensable part of every family, and it is inevitable to encounter the loss of spare parts in the use of cars. Today, let's study the types of car lamps and their important roles in use.

 

Automobile lamps can be divided into two types according to their functions: lighting lamps and signal lamps. According to the installation position, it can be divided into external lamps and internal lamps.

 

1. External lamps and lanterns Headlights, fog lights, license plate lights, backup lights, brake lights, turn signals, position lights, position lights, parking lights and warning lights.

 

Headlight

Headlights are also called headlights and headlights, as shown in the following figure. It includes low beam lights and high beam lights, which are generally installed on both sides of the car's head to provide lighting for the car when driving at night or on the dimly lit road. High beam 40-60W, low beam 35-55W.

Fog lights are installed at the front and rear of the car, slightly lower than headlights. The fog lights installed at the front of the car are called front fog lights, and the fog lights installed at the rear of the car are called rear fog lights. The light color of fog lamp is yellow or orange, because these two lights have long wavelength and good penetration performance. When used in bad weather conditions such as fog, snow, rainstorm or sandstorm, it can effectively improve the road lighting and indicate the position of vehicles. The power of fog lamps is generally 45-55W.

 

Licence plate light

As shown in the figure below(of a car) the license plate light is used to illuminate the license plate at the rear of the car. When the tail light is on, the license plate light is also lit. Requirements: Its brightness should ensure that the license plate number can be recognized at a distance of 20M, and the power of the license plate light is generally 5-10W.

 

Reversing light

Back-up lights are installed at the rear of the car, one on the left and one on the right. Some cars have only one, and the light color is white. When the driver puts the shift lever into reverse gear, the back-up lights come on to remind the vehicles or pedestrians behind to pay attention to driving safety, and it plays a lighting role when reversing at night. The power is generally 20-25W.

 

Brake light Brake light, also known as brake light, is installed at the back of the car. Its function is to send a light signal to the rear car when the car brakes or slows down, so as to warn the following car and prevent rear-end collision. Its light is red and its general power is 20-25W.

 

Turn signal There are generally four or six turn signals. Some cars installed on the front and rear ends and side fenders of automobiles are installed on the left and right rear view mirrors, and the light color is generally yellow. The power of the main turn signal is generally 20-25W, and the side turn signal is generally 5 W. When the automobile turns, the driver lights up the left or right turn signal through the turn switch to provide the turn signal to the outside world.

 

Turn indicator light The turn indicator light is installed on the instrument panel, and its light color is green. The two green arrows respectively indicate left and right turning, and it flashes at the same time with the turn indicator light to provide the driver with the working information of turning left or right. Width lights and taillights As shown in the figure below, the width indicator lamp and the tail lamp are low-intensity lamps, which are used to indicate the position and width of other vehicles. The lamp in front is called the width indicator lamp, and the lamp in the rear is called the tail lamp, with a general power of 5-20W.
